Student Access Services
Wenatchee Valley College (WVC) is committed to providing equal opportunity and participation for students with disabilities in all college activities and programs. WVC ensures reasonable accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Rehabilitation Act, and Washington State laws. Moreover, we recognize disability as a valued part of diversity on our campuses!
As part of Student Affairs, Student Access Services (SAS) has been designated by the college [400.080] as the primary office to assist students with disabilities. We provide individualized accommodation services to qualified WVC students in Wenatchee, Omak, and online.

Student Access Portal
The Student Access Portal is an online system used to establish, request, and manage accommodations for students with disabilities at WVC. Students will login to the portal each quarter to request accommodation(s) for their courses, send letters to instructors, and/or request accommodation letters. If you need additional help with this portal, review our Student Access Services Portal webpage to watch how-to videos.
Faculty also have access to this portal, where they may view course accommodation requests, upload testing content, and answer consent questions to facilitate accommodation for students taking their courses. If you are a faculty member and need additional help with this portal, review our Instructor Resources page. There you can watch how-to videos and learn more about the accommodations we provide to students.
If this is your first time requesting accommodations at WVC, please view our Process for Securing Accommodations webpage.
Who We Serve
SAS supports all WVC students registered with our office including students at our Wenatchee campus, Omak campus, and students attending online.
Disabilities are varied. Students may have conditions that are continuous, episodic, or temporary.
Some disabilities include, but are not limited to learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, mental health disabilities, blind/low vision, deaf/hard of hearing, speech/language disabilities, physical and mobility disabilities, medical conditions, and brain injury.
Running Start StudentsStudents with disabilities, who are concurrently enrolled in high school and college, are responsible for requesting accommodation in higher education. IEPs and 504 plans do not automatically transfer to college. Furthermore, the laws and requirements for accommodations in K-12 are different than they are in higher education. We maintain confidentiality in compliance with the Family Education and Privacy Act (FERPA). If your parent(s)/guardian(s) wish(es) to be involved in your accommodations process, you must provide written consent to our office. If you would like a copy of this form, please contact sas@wvc.edu or 509-682-6854. Note: This form is different from the FERPA form used with other WVC departments. We cannot provide any information about a student to a parent without signed consent from the student, even if that student is under 18 years of age. We know this can be a challenge to navigate so please reach out if you need support! |
