About Omak
Omak is located in the highlands of Okanogan County in North Central Washington. The county shares a border with British Columbia to the north. The Cascade Mountains are located on the county's western border, and the Columbia River is to the south. The Okanogan River runs through Omak and its neighboring town of Okanogan. The Colville Reservation is located within Okanogan County and is an important part of the county's cultural heritage.
The high desert has four distinct seasons, with opportunities for a variety of recreational activities, including camping, fishing, boating, skiing and snowmobiling. Annual events include the Omak Stampede and Suicide Race, United Pow Wow, Art in the Park, Orchards in Bloom marathon, Vintage Faire, and Okanogan Family Faire in nearby Tonasket.
Shopping and dining are available in downtown Omak and at nearby shopping centers.
