Advising Day

Advising WeekWhat is Advising Day?

This is a day when Faculty Advisors are not teaching and you do not have classes, making it convenient for you to meet with your Faculty Advisor. It is your chance to plan your academic schedule, review program requirements, and stay on track to meet your educational goals.

When is Advising Day?

Advising Day takes place every quarter. When you look at the current Academic Calendar you will notice there is an Advising Day where no classes are scheduled.

Who's my Faculty Advisor?

To see who your Faculty Advisor is, visit MyWVC and login to your ctcLink account - look under "Academics" to find "Advisor Information." Still having trouble finding your Faculty Advisor? Click Here. If you would like to change your Faculty Advisor, fill out the Change of Advisor Form Online or fill out and submit a Change of Advisor Request form (PDF).

How do I sign up for an individual advising session?

In most cases, you can sign up by calling or emailing your Faculty Advisor to schedule an appointment. Some Faculty Advisors put sign-up sheets outside their offices one week before Advising Day. Although a designated day has been set aside for you to meet with your Faculty Advisor, you are welcome to contact them at any time for advice or assistance.

What do I bring to my advising session?

When you meet with your Faculty Advisor be sure to:

  • Prepare a list of questions.
  • Gather and bring your academic records.
  • Clarify your educational and career goals.
  • Discuss program requirements.
  • Review your next quarter schedule.
  • Develop an educational plan for future quarters.
