Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Fast-Track Course

The CNA Fast-Track course provides the basics in care-giving skills for entry-level employment in healthcare. It includes instruction of personal care skills, roles and responsibilities of nursing assistants, communication skills, and safe and emergency procedures. CPR training for healthcare providers  is included. Upon successful completion and evaluation by nursing faculty, students are eligible to take the certification examination for nursing assistants. This course, or its equivalent, is a prerequisite for the nursing program.

Training consists of classroom/lab time as well as clinical experience at a local long-term care facility.

*Important note:  Effective immediately, the Nursing Assistant Skills Exam is incorporated into each FastTrack and Bridge class. The Washington State Board of Nursing mandated $100 exam fee is included in the course fee. After a candidate passes the Skills Exam, they are eligible to sit for the Written Exam administered by Credentia (separate exam fee paid directly to Credentia).

1. Review CNA Fast-Track Requirements/Application. If you can fulfill all requirements by the due dates below, continue to registration.
   
   
2.  You can register at anytime. You do NOT need to complete the paperwork before registering. Please see paperwork due dates below.

M.A. to CNA Bridge Course

This noncredit "bridge" course provides training for certified medical assistants to transition to CNA. Upon successful completion of the course, this 36-hour training will allow the certified medical assistant to become eligible to take the Nursing Assistant Certified exam. The course consists of classroom/lab time as well as clinical experience at a local long-term care facility. CPR for Healthcare Providers training is included in this course.
*This program is available to Washington State Certified Medical Assistants. Proof of certification is required.*

HCA to CNA Bridge Course

This noncredit "bridge" course provides training for home care aides to transition to CNA. Upon successful completion of the course, this 36-hour training will allow the home care aide to become eligible to take the Nursing Assistant Certified exam. The course consists of classroom/lab time as well as clinical experience at a local long-term care facility.  CPR for Healthcare Providers training is included in this course.
*This program is available to home care aides who can provide proof of active Washington State Home Care Aide Certification.*
