Brett Riley will serve as the vice president of administrative services at Wenatchee Valley College, replacing Suzie Benson. Riley’s first day was Feb. 1.

Riley was recently the director of business services at Columbia Basin College. Prior to CBC, he was a research manager at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a research manager at Washington State University.

Riley, who grew up in Spokane, has a bachelor of science degree in neuroscience from Washington State University and a master’s degree in business management from Eastern Michigan University. He has experience overseeing capital projects, budgets and accounting, grants and contracts, auxiliary services, and risk management.

He said he is looking forward to “getting to know the Wenatchee community and working with the tremendous team already at WVC to foster a campus experience that focuses on student success, customer service and civic engagement.”

Suzie Benson, who retired in January, began working at WVC in 1978 as an office assistant. In 2000, she was promoted to director of fiscal services and to vice president of administrative services in 2007. She has been involved in numerous construction projects on the Wenatchee campus, including the WVC Residence Hall, the Music and Art Center, and the new student recreation center.
