Alumni Spotlight: Brenda Magana-Galvan '13
For Brenda Magana-Galvan, choosing Wenatchee Valley College was a decision rooted in both practicality and opportunity. As a first-generation student, affordability was key, and WVC gave her a chance to chase her educational goals without being weighed down by debt.
One of her fondest memories from her time on campus was being admitted into the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP). “They really pushed me through college and made me feel welcomed on campus,” Brenda shares. That support and sense of belonging carried her through to graduation and helped set the course for her future.
Today, Brenda is an important part of the WVC family, serving as the Fiscal Analyst 3 for the WVC Foundation. She has been with the Foundation for more than seven years, helping to manage finances and support the same mission that helped her succeed as a student.
Reflecting on her time at WVC, Brenda is grateful for the strong foundation it provided. “WVC gave me a head start on my degree without debt,” she says. That early boost made it possible for her to step confidently into her career.
Her advice for current WVC students is to "cherish your time in college because it is play time! When you graduate and start your career, it is work time."
