Meet the Minds Behind the Mission: Jessica Gilmore

Though Jessica is not a WVC alumni, she believes education is crucial not only for an individual, but a community as a whole. "When a family member accesses post-secondary education, it can inspire others in the family to believe that higher education is within reach," she said. "This can transform the trajectories of multiple lives."

As a lifelong educator, Jessica believes that supporting the WVC Foundation is aJessica Gilmore meaningful way to uplift not only individual students, but the entire Wenatchee Valley Community. "WVC is a cornerstone institution in the region, providing not just degree-granting programs, but also cultural enrichment, lifelong learning opportunities, and personal growth courses," she said.

One of Jessica's most cherished experiences as a WVC board member is the annual Food Truck Knight event, as she takes great joy in being able to contribute directly to the community celebration. "Beyond just being a fun and festive occasion, Food Truck Knight represents the type of positive outcomes you strive to help create as a board member," she said

Outside of serving on the WVC Foundation Board, Jessica enjoys travelling, reading, baking, crafting, and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

WVC matters to Jessica because she has dedicated her career to the transformative power of learning and the positive impact it can have on individuals and communities. "I've seen firsthand how this institution provides access to high-quality education and enrichment opportunities that empower students of all backgrounds to reach their full potential," she said. "Being able to contribute to this vibrant hub of knowledge and opportunity fills me with a profound sense of purpose.”
