Meet the Minds Behind the Mission: Ron Lodge

Ron Lodge attended Wenatchee Valley College from 1974-1976 and believes that everyone should attend college and obtain a higher education in order to prepare them for the workplace in a field of study that matters to them.Ron Lodge

“Targeted programs that enable a student to achieve a meaningful certificate or diploma in a relatively short period, and at an affordable price, makes Wenatchee Valley College the best deal higher education has to offer,” he said.

Ron is inspired to serve on the WVC Foundation board because he appreciates how many ways there are to impact the student experience.

“Providing students with scholarships is our primary focus, along with food and student housing assistance, program support, faculty and staff development, and being ambassadors for WVC in the community,” he said.

Some of Ron’s favorite memories while serving as a WVC Foundation board member involves watching donors continue to support students, programs, and faculty.

“The enduring flow of money into the Foundation is a testimony to both the hard work that our staff and board do, and also the good standing we have in the community and the faith that has been entrusted to us,” he said. “We want donors to feel good about supporting Wenatchee Valley College and its students, and they do.”

Outside of serving on the WVC Foundation board, Ron is a lifelong musician and is currently in his 25th season as accompanist for the Columbia Chorale.

WVC matters to Ron because this is where he found his wife. “Jeanne and I met in choir and were married in 1977,” he said. “Dick Lapo, our WVC choir director, even attended our wedding.”
