What is the CARES Act?
The CARES Act is federal legislation that was passed by the United States Congress in March 2020.
It provides financial support to individuals and businesses affected by the COVID-19
(novel coronavirus) pandemic. Learn more about how WVC is responding to the pandemic
at wvc.edu/PublicHealth.
The college has received funds to be given to eligible students. Funds can be used for COVID-19-related expenses including technology, food, housing, health care, or child care. This money is not a loan and does not have to be repaid.
Who is eligible?
Generally, all Wenatchee Valley College students who are currently enrolled are eligible to apply.

How do I apply?
CARES II and CARES III funds are available at: CARES APPLICATION
What if my application is still in process?
Applications being processed as soon as possible. It may take up to two weeks to receive funding. Results or requests for additional information will be communicated via email or phone.
How will I receive the funds?
Funding will be disbursed using the student’s refunding preference established with BankMobile. Visit WVC's BankMobile page for more information. Contact WVC’s Financial Aid Office (wvc.edu/Financial Aid) for additional information about establishing your refunding preference. If you can't find your personal BankMobile code, the financial aid office can help.

CARES Act I FAQs
To be eligible for funds, students must:
- Be currently enrolled at WVC
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
Some students were not eligible for CARES I funds, including:
- Students only enrolled in continuing education program courses, Adult Basic Education (ABE) courses or English as a Second Language (ESL) courses
- Students who do not have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
- DACA students or undocumented students
- International students
Students may qualify for other assistance at WVC. See more under “What additional resources are available?”
CARES II and CARES III do allow students listed above to be eligible to receive funds.
Funds can be used for COVID-19-related expenses including technology, food, housing, health care, or child care.
Maximum amounts vary, generally students may apply for a maximum of $2,100, but may not receive the full amount. If you do not need the full $2,100, please consider applying for only the amount that you need.
No, this fund will not impact or replace financial aid.
In addition to CARES Act funding, WVC also offers:

- WVC food pantry curbside pickup on both campuses.
